ABC HAS STARTED

The "Augmented BNCI Communication" (ABC) project, which had seen approval from the EU for funding under an FP7 grant agreement, was kicked-off, thus marking the beginning of a cutting-edge research effort towards the improvement of the life of children with Dyskinetic Cerebral Palsy (DCP).
In a consortium of 9 partners, headed by the Instituto de Biomecánica de Valencia (IBV), PLUX is collaborating with top level institutions in their field of work, set to develop novel modular and interoperable BNCI interfaces for augmentative communication, emotions expression and developing the interaction capabilities of persons with DCP.
The outcomes of the project will introduce significant improvements in the social inclusion, independent living, and quality of life of this target group. Although the primary focus will be on DCP, persons with other severe disabilities such as Autism, Locked in syndrome, Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS), and others, may benefit from the results.
